Welcome to Immanuel

Immanuel Lutheran Church was founded in 1890 in Clifton, Texas.

Our Sunday School starts at 9:30am, and our Worship Service is at 10:30am each Sunday morning.

Bridal Shower Scheduled

A bridal shower is planned for October 22, 2017 from 2-3:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall for
Samantha Canfield, bride elect of Ryan Ledlow.  The couple have selections at Bed, Bath and Beyond, Target, Amazon.com and Lowe's.  Everyone at Immanuel is invited to attend and help wish this young couple well as they start a new life together.

HURRICANE RELIEF

So far, cleaning supplies, shovels and various other items have been purchased with a portion of the congregation's donations and have been delivered by Jerry and Josh Golden.  In addition, the Meissner Family is making plans for a trip to an area that was hard hit by the storm (actual location not yet determined) to assist with clean-up, tear down and rebuilding efforts.  If you are interested in participating in a mission tam from Immanuel, please let Kathy Meissner know and she will begin working with the Texas District to identify the area(s) that could most use help.  Thank you!!

Church Under the Bridge

The Church Under the Bridge is celebrating 25 years of service to their members and participants.  This is a wonderful ministry and we have helped from time to time with donations specific to their needs.

The Women's Guild will be collecting Winter clothes and jackets for the Church Under the Bridge.  Anyone who has any winter clothing they may have outgrown or no longer can use, is invited to bring the item(s) to the church for distribution to the members of the Church Under the Bridge.  Any size clothing is needed and appreciated.  Deadline for collections is October 29th.

The ladies are also collecting or purchasing feminine hygiene products to send to the ladies of the Church Under the Bridge.  If you would like to help with this purchase, please give money to Delores Zuehlke or Debbie Rollins.  Thank you for your help!!

MARK YOUR CALENDARS--October 8th, 2017

Sunday, October 8 will be a busy Sunday at Immanuel.  The ladies of Immanuel's LWML will celebrate LWML Sunday during the service.  There will be an "Oktoberfest" meal after the service followed by a Congregational Meeting.

The Meat for the meal will be furnished by the congregation and members area asked to bring a side that goes with German Sausage.  Last year we had the meal outside, but moving tables and chairs proved to be more difficult than anticipated.  This year the meal will be in the Fellowship Hall immediately after the church service.

The Congregational Meeting will follow the meal in the fellowship hall.  Mr. Golden will send out an agenda on Friday, following the Church Council Meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday night.

Please plan to attend and enjoy the fellowship!

Women's Bible Study--New Time

Women's Bible Study will now be meeting on Wednesday mornings at 10:00 a.m. instead of Tuesday.  See you there!!

Prayer Requests 10/1/2017

Hurricane Harvey  --  Please pray for all of those affected by the hurricane this weekend.  We ask God for His protection over those in Harvey's path, and we pray that He would help people pick up the pieces in their lives as they rebuild what was destroyed.

Guatemala -- We pray for the people of Oasis, that the Holy Spirit would continue to strengthen their faith each day.

Sharman Golden -- We praise God for a successful knee surgery and pray that God will give Sharman healing as she recovers at the Sunset Home.

Bradley Sheffer --  Pray for Bradley, who is back in the hospital with fluid on his lungs again.  He is undergoing tests, and doctors are concerned that cancer may have spread to his lungs.  We pray that God would rid Bradley's body of this cancer and restore his health.

Antiochian Apostolic Church/Pastor Bahkou--Please lift up this mission and their special ministry through your prayers, as Immanuel has committed to supporting this unique ministry this year.  The Antiochian Apostolic Church became the first Arabic speaking "member" congregation of the LCMS.  They worship at Peace Lutheran Church, Hurst, and have about  70 members with many visitors each Sunday.  Bahkou preaches in English and Arabic each Sunday, broadcasting this message all over the world through International Christian Satellite (abnsat.com)
